In 2008, to test the effectiveness of changing the organization's structure from state-based to region-based, the 30 Outright Yahoo Groups were merged into 9 regional groups. We hope that this will facilitate the creation of more metro-based chapters and ease organization and outreach in the meantime.
New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont
Mid-Atlantic: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C.
Southern Tier Appalachia: Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
Southeast: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina
Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin
Heartland: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota
